Good evening everyone,

Today we are asking you to join with us in a project to recognise the amazing people across Lancashire who have been the heroes of our time in lockdown.

Of course, we all salute those amazing people who work for the NHS, some of whom have given their lives to look after the rest of us in our time of need.

But there has also been a whole army of other folk, from supermarket workers and delivery drivers to council staff and emergency services who have also kept the country going throughout.

We want to say a Big Thank You to all of them. So over the next few weeks, we are asking you to nominate the people you want to thank, whoever they are.

This week is Volunteers Week, so we are starting with all those folk who have given their time, free of charge, to help other people in their community, from hospice volunteers to the people who help to man our food banks.

But feel free to nominate others.

You will know many of them and like us, you will believe they deserve some recognition for their selfless acts. We want to give them all a mention - so get nominating and say a Big Thank You to them all.

Just click on this link to find out more.

If you would like to drop me a line, contact me on gillian.parkinson@jpimedia.co.uk.

Until next time, take care and stay safe.
