Good evening
So, we have reached another weekend ... although to be fair weekdays and weekends no longer have exactly the same distinction they once did! Having said that, it does offer those working from home the chance to move away from the computer for a couple of days. At least by the end of this week we have had some good news as according to the Prime Minister we are now through the peak of the virus and the government has not only met but surpassed its target of 100,000 tests by the end of April. The medical and scientific people are, however, being more cautious than bullish, warning that if we are not very careful we will be running headlong into a second, even bigger peak. By and large, the British public know and understand this and are even prepared to spend a bit more time in lockdown if it means we will be eventually get rid of Covid-19 and be able to return to nearly normal lives. So, while it is natural that we are all getting a little frustrated about lack of social interaction or feeling stir crazy looking at the same four walls, now is not the time to falter. Stay strong. We’ll see each other again soon. Gillian Parkinson Editor |
