My name is Daniela Werneck, I am an artist with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design. I am also human, mother, and wife. Not exactly in this order.
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, surrounded by Portuguese relatives. After married my handsome and forever husband, we moved to Australia and lived there for 3 years, just before we landed in Texas, a place that our sons call home, and where they do not want to leave anytime soon. - Teenagers...Ugh!
As an artist, I am a romantic, sensitive person and an art lover since my childhood. Although, as a teenager, I attended private drawing lessons, where does all my artistic base come from, I consider myself a self-taught watercolorist. I painted commissioned portraits in watercolor for many years, which helped me a lot to improve my skills. I like the mixture of the classic, romantic, and contemporary looking of my paintings. My art is innocent and pure, but often with a social focus which brings knowledge with a sense of freedom and hopes to the public. Like fairy tales with all the rebellion that they can provoke, my paintings speak to the public, tell stories, create an emotional narrative, revealing feelings and thoughts.
As a human, I am an imperfect human being who not only strives to be a better person every day but also to achieve precision and perfection in my paintings.
In addition to my professional life, I am a wife and a mother. You can also find me at home cooking, cleaning, tidying up, washing clothes, being the family secretary, among other "little" things. Or at the grocery store, trying to keep the pantry full to satisfy my teenagers' hunger. |
