Critics: Jailed youth removed from Angola, sent to another subpar jail

Jailed youth: Earlier this year, the feds ordered Louisiana to remove teens from the State Penitentiary at Angola, citing intolerable conditions. But civil rights groups say the facility where the teens were moved is also subpar, Jacqueline DeRobertis reports.

Exit exam dustup: An effort to let high school seniors appeal when their exit exam scores keep them from graduating was shot down Thursday by a state panel, James Finn reports. Critics, including Gov.-elect Jeff Landry, said it would send students into the world unprepared. Gov. John Bel Edwards could still approve the plan.
