| Bridging physics and biology in cancer research |
| In our latest Cancer News for Researchers article, Stephen Smye (University of Leeds) takes us through the Physics of Life programme which brings physicists and life scientists together to transform our understanding of living systems and medical science. Stephen advocates for two-way conversations between the fields, arguing that it’s not simply a case of physics informing life sciences and that biology is yielding new ideas in physics that are at least as challenging as string theory.

It shares findings from the People-Centred Clinical Research project, identifying the key barriers and enablers to making clinical research more people centred. The report offers 19 recommendations for system-wide improvements, in areas such as accessibility, opportunities, research design, engagement and capacity. It also introduces nine hallmarks of good practice that researcher will demonstrate if they are doing good people-centred clinical research. | |
