“Unicorn apocalypse?” Think again.

Hightail’s Mike Trigg details the many sectors (daily deal sites and social gaming, for instance) that have experienced significant corrections over the past decade, resulting in very little macro-economic impact. So, while valuations may contract for today’s unicorns, the companies that survive “will continue to methodically transform every sector of the global economy” as Silicon Valley’s unicorn problem essentially solves itself, Trigg predicts.

The hitchhiker’s guide to Boston tech:

Yesterday, Boston-based seed fund NextView Ventures released an update to its annual guide to all things Boston tech. Co-founder and partner Rob Go discusses the recent emergence of new local early-stage and growth-stage VC firms and says he’s still hoping to see much more diversity and the removal of inhibiting noncompetes in Boston’s future.
