Cure Addiction Now (CAN) is dedicated to the understanding, treatment and ultimate cure of “drug addiction,” scientifically known as substance use disorder (SUD) while simultaneously addressing the importance of mental health as an integral part of the solution. Funding cutting edge research and its clinical translation through a collaborative program is the core focus of the foundation. In addition to creating new therapies to help stop the deadly cycle of SUD, they hope to eliminate the negative stigma of this disease and ultimately find a cure for the brain’s “addiction” to drugs. www.cureaddictionnow.org

Over the last two years CAN has funded 7 Innovation Awards and 2 Young Investigator Awards, each with a $75,000 grant. The directive is to support translatable basic science studies. CAN will not fund a grant unless the proposal is deemed top-tier science research by our Scientific Advisory Board. Grant recipients and the centers that are part of the program share scientific accomplishments through virtual meetings and semi-annual CAN symposiums.
