Collecting paper cuts (the good kind)

Our new show, a second volume of Cut & Paste, is open, with contemporary paper cut and collage works by Rob Ryan, Pippa Drylaga, Marion Elliot, Sarah Gamble, Clover Robin, Ruth Waters, and Sue William A'Court.

Full of colour and meticulous detail, these artworks elevate the humble sheet of paper to a very precious material.

Come and see the show in the gallery and online. We are open every day from 11am-5pm.

Yuta Segawa

We've had a restock from SGW Lab - the technicolour studio of London-based Japanese potter Yuta Segawa.

All his pots are thrown individually by hand and then decorated from a library of more than five hundred original handmade glazes.

He has gathered quite a following here at Atelier Beside the Sea, and we regularly sell out of his highly collectable ceramics.

We'll be adding the new mugs, vases and espresso cups to the online gallery over the coming weeks, but come into the arches if you want to see all the unique colour combinations for yourself. A true master of both form and decoration.

Play & Mend with Adriana Torres

There are just a few places left to join acclaimed embroidery tutor Adriana Torres for a playful workshop learning creative mending techniques on 10th June.

Participants will be given a silk screened piece of fabric to first distress and then - in a game lead by Adriana - fix and finish.

Suitable for all levels, you'll learn Adriana’s favorite Brussels stitch, which is perfectly suited to repairing holes. At the end of the day you will have lots on new know-how and a beautiful mending sampler to use as a wall hanging for your home or studio. Book your place now.
