Good afternoon,

If there is one thing that has marked the last few days, it has been the outpouring of generosity to help tackle child food poverty during half term. So many companies, individuals and organisations have come forward, sending a clear message - no child should ever go hungry in this day and age.

Let's hope those in power are listening.

Meanwhile, it's been a busy morning on the newsdesk with overnight downpours seeing roads flooded, including the closure of an M6 slip road.

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after an accident in Walton-le-dale.

Police found a fireworks stash in a park after complaints from residents.

And a 20-year-old man and his passenger are lucky to be alive after crashing into a tree in Morecambe.

In case you missed it, the full line-up for Lytham Festival 2021 has been revealed, with massive names on the bill including Diana Ross and Duran Duran.

Don't forget, we have lots of ideas at lep.co.uk if you are looking for something Covid-safe to do this half term, including the best pumpkin patches in Lancashire.

Keep up to speed with all things Lancashire via our live blog.

And enjoy your day!

Kind regards, Nicola Adam
