John Stratton resigned as EVP and president of global operations at Verizon after chief technology officer Hans Vestberg was named next in line as CEO. Lowell McAdam is retiring as CEO effective August 1. “Effective immediately, Stratton will step down from his current role and will support a smooth transition as a strategic adviser reporting to Lowell McAdam,” said Verizon in a statement Friday.
Santa Monica-based entertainment and technology PR firm Beck Media & Marketing has established an office in Atlanta, to be led by Stephanie Booker, a nine-year veteran of the agency. Ipsos appointed David Letson as Executive Vice President of Ipsos RDA. Letson will lead the development and execution for the Automotive Quality Advisory Services team. Nadine Santos was promoted to Vice President of Programming & Artist Relations at Music Choice. Santos had been Director. Next-generation national news network Newsy has expanded its NYC-based sales and distribution team, hiring Ken Ripley as Vice President of Sales and naming Stephen Strong as VP of Strategic Partnerships. Ripley previously launched and led sales divisions for DirecTV and Discovery Communications, among others, while Strong has been VP of Revenue for Newsy since 2016.
