SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY John 14:2-4
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Click Here!

QUOTE OF THE DAY Brigham Young
“This is the plan of salvation. Jesus will never cease his work until all are brought up to the enjoyment of a kingdom in the mansions of his Father, where there are many kingdoms and many glories, to suit the works and faithfulness of all men that have lived on the earth. Some will obey the celestial law and receive of its glory, some will abide the terrestrial and some the telestial, and others will receive no glory” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, p. 52). TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY July 17, 2021
1847 - Because of the sickness of Brigham Young, the pioneer company only traveled about 2 ½ miles, stopping at 10:00 am. In the afternoon, many of the camp members ascended a high hill near by and engaged in prayer on behalf of those sick in the camp. Orson Pratt’s advance company worked most of the day clearing brush and rocks from the road, traveling about eight miles. For More Church History, Click Here!
In the Hands of the Lord: The Life of Dallin H. Oaks by Richard E. Turley Jr. Dallin H. Oaks may not have seemed the likeliest choice to become an Apostle. His life path had been anything but conventional. He was only seven when his mother became a widow. His young adulthood saw him joining the National Guard and marrying at nineteen. But all along that path, the Lord was preparing him for the call that would eventually come. This engaging biography by noted historian Richard E. Turley Jr. takes the reader on a fascinating journey through the life of an extraordinary leader. It is filled with stories and photographs detailing his boyhood, his family life, his education and military experiences, and his distinguished academic and law career. Most important, we witness his willingness to set aside that career in favor of a higher responsibility. In 1984, when President Gordon B. Hinckley extended the call to the apostleship, Dallin H. Oaks replied, "My life is in the hands of the Lord, and my career is in the hands of His servants." His lifetime of dedication to the Lord's work gives truth to his words and offers inspiration and faith to all who read his story. Click HERE!
