SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Doctrine and Covenants 109:14-15
And do thou grant, Holy Father, that all those who shall worship in this house may be taught words of wisdom out of the best books, and that they may seek learning even by study, and also by faith, as thou hast said; And that they may grow up in thee, and receive a fulness of the Holy Ghost, and be organized according to thy laws, and be prepared to obtain every needful thing. QUOTE OF THE DAY Joseph F. Smith
“Now, the Lord bless you, and in the name of the Lord I bless you—this congregation, the covenant people of the Lord, just as truly as ancient Israel were the covenant people of God, for you have entered into the solemn covenant of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that you will keep the commandments of God, that you will eschew evil and wickedness. You know what you have done; you know the nature of the covenants you have entered into before God and witnesses and before the angels of heaven; and, therefore, you have entered into the bond of the new and everlasting covenant and are indeed the covenant people of God in the latter days” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph F. Smith, p. 310). For more Quote of the Day Click Here!

1847 - Orson Pratt and Erastus Snow, advance scouts for the pioneer company, become the first Latter-day Saints to enter the Salt Lake Valley. After making a twelve-mile circuit through the valley, they returned to their camp 1 ½ miles up Emigration Canyon. The middle, or main group, made great progress both in miles covered and work on the roadway. They came within one mile of Orson Pratt’s camp. Brigham Young’s sick camp laid over on East Canyon Creek as several new cases of sickness hit the group. For More Church History, Click Here!
His Return - Prophecy, Destiny and Hope by Richard N. Skousen The Lord has warned us that many traumatic and tumultuous events will take place in the latter days prior to the Second Coming. But we can find peace, hope and strength in the midst of these events. Using the scriptures and modern prophetic revelations, Brother Skousen clearly explains some of the important events that will occur prior to the Savior’s Second Coming, such as: 1. The necessary organizations, laws and covenants which must be established before He comes again, 2. The redemption of the land of Zion and the planning and building of the New Jerusalem, 3. Important events that will take place in the Old World as well as the New World prior to His Return, and 4. The identity of some of those who will play a crucial role in these latter events. Avoiding myths, legends and rumored prophecies, Brother Skousen uses the scriptures and the words of latter-day prophets to clearly explain the events that will occur prior to the Savior’s Second Coming. This book offers an impressive message of hope, and how we can prepare for His Return. Click Here!
