SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY 2 Nephi 14:5-6
And the Lord will create upon every dwelling-place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for upon all the glory of Zion shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and a covert from storm and from rain. Click Here!

QUOTE OF THE DAY George Albert Smith
“Brethren and sisters, we ought to be faithful. The land that we live in should be sanctified by our lives of righteousness. … All that we need is to repent of our sins, turn from the error of our ways, cleanse our lives of impurity, and then to go about doing good. It does not require that we shall be set apart for that purpose. Every man, woman and child in the Church of Jesus Christ may go about doing good and receive the blessing that results therefrom” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith, p. 263). 1834 - Feeling they were camped in a dangerous position, the Prophet counseled Zion’s Camp to move quickly....They ended up camping on an elevated piece of land between Little Fishing and Big Fishing rivers. While preparing the camp, five men “armed with guns rode into our camp, and told us we should ‘see hell before morning’.” They told the Camp that several hundred men were coming to destroy them. As the men were leaving the camp, a storm began. While the members of Zion’s Camp had some wind and heavy rain, the storm around them was so strong it kept the mob from attacking. Hail destroyed crops and broke off tree limbs. The incessant lightening lit up the Camp like day and the rain feel in torrents causing the Big Fishing river, only ankle deep when they arrived, to rise forty feet deep and the Little Fishing river thirty feet. Many of the men from Zion’s Camp found shelter in an old meetinghouse while the mob was literally kept from their plans by the destructive storm. Many “declared that if that was the way God fought for the Mormons, they might as well go about their business” (History of the Church, 2:102-105). For More Church History, Click Here!
Stand By My Servant Joseph; The Story of the Joseph Knight Family and the Restoration by William G. Hartley In Nauvoo, the Prophet Joseph Smith reflected on the course of the Restoration and paid tribute to Joseph Knight's family, who had stood by him loyally. "They are my friends," he wrote. Regarded by many as the "second family of the Restoration," the Knight family participated in many of the events of the early Church. Joseph Smith used Brother Knight's wagon to retrieve the plates from the hill Cumorah, and the family was in the first group the Prophet sent to settle Jackson County, Missouri. The Knights endured and stayed faithful throughout their many trials and moved west with the Saints to settle the Salt Lake Valley. William G. Hartley, a highly regarded historian, has carefully researched a multitude of sources and woven a story that is both readable and reliable. This book illustrates the faithfulness of the Joseph Knight family and bears stirring testimony of the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith. Click Here!
