VIDEO: Fire destroys magnesium factory in Chicago

Firefighters are working to make sure a blaze that erupted at a magnesium factory in south suburban Dixmoor overnight stays out. Crews had the fire under control by early Thursday morning and it is now extinguished, but not before the building was destroyed.

Video shows alleged arsonist catching fire while setting car ablaze in California

Authorities are searching for the alleged arsonist who caught on fire while he was setting a car ablaze in Corona, all of which was captured on camera on Tuesday. The video shows an unidentified man standing next to a black sedan via a home's Ring surveillance camera before flames suddenly erupt from his hand, quickly turning into a large explosion.

Kentucky fire department moving firefighters, EMS to new schedule

VIDEO: Starting in July, the Jeffersontown Fire Department will switch its firefighters and EMS to a new schedule. They will go from working 24 hours on and 48 hours off to 24 hours on and 72 hours off. It's a switch Chief Mark Ohlmann says is going to be a game-changer.

Expanding coverage for retired firefighters battling cancer advances in Iowa House

VIDEO: Iowa House lawmakers unanimously advanced a bill out of a public safety subcommittee on Tuesday that would expand health care benefits to full-time firefighters, police officers and emergency medical service providers. The bill requires public employers to provide benefits that include cancer screening examinations every three years of employment.

Fire maps show where wildfires are burning in North and South Carolina

VIDEO: Multiple wildfires were actively burning Wednesday in North and South Carolina, where a blaze that erupted over the weekend forced evacuations and a state of emergency. The largest of them, in the Carolina Forest area near Myrtle Beach, has spread over 2,000 acres.
