Good evening,

It has been a shocking week.

First we had the terrible news that nine-year-old Jordan Banks had been killed after being struck by lightning while in football training in Blackpool.
Then today we learn that a young child has died and four adults are injured, two of them seriously, after a gas explosion in a house in Heysham.
One neighbour described the explosion as 'like a bomb going off.'
It must have been truly terrifying for everyone close by.
But such tragedies can bring out the very best in us.
The death of Jordan Banks led to an out-pouring of grief, along with a host of tributes to this special and caring youngster.
Local people set up a fund-raiser for his family and the same has happened today in Heysham to help the family of the dead child, but also the many people evacuated from their homes.
We should all dig in our pockets to help.

Until next time, take care,

Gillian
