J. Krishnamurti Online

A problem means something thrown at you. The etymological meaning of that word is something thrown at you. We attempt to solve problems with a brain that is already educated in problems, and so we never solve problems. In the solution of one problem, you have a dozen other problems. In politics, look at what is happening. All over the world, people want to solve problems, but in the solving of them, other problems arise because the brain is never free to solve problems.

From an Interview by Robert Davis, Washington DC, 16 April 1985
