The brain now, for most of us, is uneducated — forgive me for using that word — uneducated: we are all very clever, we are all specialised, we are mothers or fathers or soldiers, and so on. So our brains have been conditioned, like a computer; the brain has been programmed to be a Catholic, to be a Protestant, to be a Buddhist, to be nationalistic, to be British and so on. It has been conditioned. So K says, ‘Let us help the future generation to uncondition themselves, to have a good brain.’
