Dance Valley scatters 100.000 flowers from a helicopter over 'sacred ground' in Spaarnwoude
We would celebrate our 26th edition this year, but due to the corona situation, we will not be able to host our festival on its original date. We are currently discussing the possibilities of moving the festival to September with the municipality of Velsen. In the meantime, the idea has arisen to revive an old tradition: the ‘flower shower’, on August 14th, the original date of our festival.
Every year until 2014, a helicopter would scatter over 100.000 flowers over the dancing crowd during the festival. A spectacular and special experience for everybody present.
Since you have been waiting for so long to experience another edition of Dance Valley, it’s important to us to show support to you the visitor, our team, our partners and everyone affected by corona in any way. By reviving this old tradition, we hope to send a strong message to the world that we’re still here and that we will be returning to our holy ground in Spaarnwoude no matter what. Be it this year, or next year.
The artist who will support the 'flower shower’ with an exclusive performance is the colorful DJ La Fuente: 'It fits well with our vision and with what we do. Always nice to be a part of a solution! Of course, I was really looking forward to my performance on the mainstage of Dance Valley this year, but in this way we can do something special for all those people who are eager to dance in the valley again. I'm thrilled to be part of this project!’
La Fuente's performance, including the 'flower shower’, will be broadcast on the Dance Valley Youtube channel and Facebook page on Saturday, August 14th starting at 19:30 (GMT +1).
