Annie Booth Trio Presents the Annual Charlie Brown Christmas

Join the Annie Booth Trio and Max Wellman for one of Denver’s most cherished holiday traditions – the annual Charlie Brown Christmas show at Dazzle!

Award-winning pianist and composer Annie Booth and her longtime trio-mates, bassist Patrick McDevitt and drummer Alejandro Castaño are thrilled to bring vocalist Max Wellman back to Denver to share music in their eighth year of this engagement. Performing the swinging, memorable music from Vince Guaraldi’s celebrated soundtrack along with some of their reimagined and energized takes on Christmas favorites, this show is open to all ages and the perfect way to celebrate the joy of the season with friends and family.

Vocalist Lindsay Day with Rico Jones

Both originally from Denver, Rico and Lindsay are some of the best emerging stars in the country. Lindsay Day is currently attending the University or North Texas and has already performed at festivals and received several downbeat awards. Rico Jones has already performed with jazz musicians such as Dave Kikoski, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Ari Hoenig, and many others. Come witness this special collaboration as they’re back in town for the Holidays!

The Shamen Sextet

Shamen is a group of six young musicians looking to push towards the edges of jazz music. Their playing takes inspiration from great jazz artists of the past, but don’t let that diminish their individuality. Every member of Shamen has written original compositions as well, ranging from avant garde and bebop to rock and fusion. Shamen brings breadth and variety to every performance.

Otis Taylor

Thursday, Dec. 30 - 5:30 and 8:30pm

Otis Taylor grew up in Denver, but like the old blues song said, he was born in Chicago in 1948. The first instrument Taylor learned to play was the banjo, but he soon rejected the banjo for its association with the racist American South. Taylor would eventually return to the banjo upon discovering its African roots. Like so many musicians in Denver, Taylor drew inspiration from time spent at the Denver Folklore Center founded by Harry Tuft, where he first heard Piedmont, Delta, country, and Chicago blues artists like Son House, Muddy Waters, and Mississippi Fred McDowell. He learned to play guitar and harmonica and while still in his teens he formed a band called the Butterscotch Fire Department and later the Otis Taylor Blues Band.

Same Cloth is a Denver based project led by prolific keyboardist Solomon J. Chapman Sr. and inventive vocalist JoFoKe. Embarking upon a new musical journey, this charismatic duo combines their peculiarities and perspectives to share meaningful art. Performing original music and creatively arranged covers, Same Cloth often collaborates with other musicians to intensify their musical vision. As a unit, Same Cloth combines the diverse traditions of Black American Music to create an energetically eclectic and emotionally elevating live music experience.

Dazzle presents a special $120 per person package which includes a 3-course meal from our special New Year’s Eve menu (tax and gratuity on the meal); live music; dancing; party favors; plus a champagne toast at midnight to ring in 2022!

Ticket is $45 a person paid in advance, $75 paid the day of for 3-course meal (which includes tax & gratuity.) Beverages are not included, other than the midnight toast.
