The Roaring 21âs |
Dear , No matter where you live, live music venues are thrilled to be back in action. As the summer winds down (or at least the school summer break), we reflect on the last few months that Dazzle at Baurâs has been fully operational. It is a joy and delight to realize since the beginning of June, we have had 95 live on-stage shows 8 live streams bringing the sounds of Denver to thousands of patrons in our brick and mortar supper club and countless viewers through our YouTube channel. Dazzle at Baurâs music showcases the best jazz and funk musicians that Denver has to offer. We pride ourselves on offering both top, established musicians and giving young ones or new bands a chance to showcase their talents on one of our stages. After all, good music is good music. It has been great seeing all of you and we look forward to seeing more of you throughout the rest of the year. Take a look at our full calendar to plan a great night out. |

This month, we are highlighting a Live Stream with up and coming young jazz musicians: Stafford Hunter's Young Lions: The Music of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Much like Art Blakey bringing young musicians to the big stage for on-the-job training with the master, this series was created to give young musicians the chance to showcase their talents while learning from a master musician. Apprenticeship while getting paid. In tribute to Art Blakey and the time-honored tradition, Stafford Hunter) a multi-Grammy nominated trombonist and veteran of the New York jazz scene) will lead these young musicians in featuring the music of Art Blakeyâs Jazz Messengers. Watch the post-high school musicians as they tackle this challenging but exciting music. On-the-job training at its best! Watch them on our YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe to receive updates when new Live Streams are published. |

Featured Band: Slow Cloth |
|
Arturo GĂłmez, Denverâs KUVO Music Director, interviews Dazzle @ Baurâs newest Artists in Residency: JoFoKe and Solomon Chapman Jr. who form the band Same Cloth. These Denver natives found their own R&B sound with roots in jazz and Gospel music. They met on the corporate wedding circuit and if youâve had the incredible experience of seeing them perform you know that they are anything but corporate. Everything Same Cloth performs are original compositions and you can see and hear how JoFoKe and Solomon hit it off musically as well as in friendship. Same Cloth performs on the last Saturday of each month at 6pm & 9pm, often with special guests where you can always hear toe-tapping, finger-snapping original musical compositions, including upcoming releases. What are the objectives of Same Cloth as a band? Is Denver really a âcover countryâ? (Cover country meaning a city where bands primarily play cover songs as opposed their own original compositions.) How does Wayne Shorterâs quote, âjazz to me means: I dare you,â summarize their musical experience? (Wayne Shorter is an American saxophonist and composer.) |
