 Dear readers,

2018 is slowly but surely coming to an end. For us it was again an exciting and eventful year:
In the foyer of the DDR Museum we are now presenting you the »Object of the Month«, a monthly changing exhibit from our collection, which consists of more than 300,000 objects. There, you will also find three new dioramas to the social classes of the DDR. Furthermore, we also opened our two small but fine cabinet exhibitions »Love, Sex & Socialism« and »Born in '89 - The Children of Change« in the foyer. The latter one can still be seen until February 28, 2019.

In April, the DDR Museum participated in the #MuseumWeek and reached over 3.1 million people with its tweets. In addition, we welcomed over 4,300 guests at the Long Night of the Museums and presented ourselves at the Unity Festival. The launch of our online shop was also one of the year's highlights. There you will find many popular products from the shop of the DDR Museum.

For a few weeks we have already been making plans for the upcoming year. We have organised exciting events in the visitor center, to which you are cordially invited. As always, admission to each event is free.

We would like to thank you for an exciting year 2018 as well as for your loyalty and we hope to welcome you to the DDR Museum in Berlin-Mitte again in 2019.

The team of the DDR Museum wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
