Note from the editor

As the holiday season approaches, it is time for a time-honored seasonal tradition: Utility Dive's annual State of the Electric Utility survey.

At the end of each year we turn to our audience for insight into how the power sector is handling critical market and policy issues, according to the people who live them everyday.

Last year, more than 600 of you told us that your utilities were shaken, not moved by recent policy upheavals — still committed to a cleaner and more distributed power system despite regulatory uncertainty from the federal government.

How is the sector feeling a year later? That's what we want to find out from you.

If you are a utility employee, click here to take the survey and be the first to receive the results. Like last year, the survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Not a utility employee? You'll still be able to download the results for free, as usual, when we publish them early next year.

Thank you for doing your part to contribute to a deeper understanding of the utility sector. Your responses will help inform policymakers, regulators and corporate leaders in our audience, as well as guide our coverage for the year to come.

Best,
