Happy Friday and welcome to the November 24 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. Here’s hoping you had a great Thanksgiving Day. We are just two days away from the Saints returning to action when they travel to Atlanta to play the rival Falcons in a pivotal NFC South game. Let’s take a look at the stories from Thursday. Carr good to goAs you know, Derek Carr injured his shoulder and also was in concussion protocol after taking a hit in the Saints’ last game against the Minnesota Vikings. Carr was a full participant in practice both Wednesday and Thursday. He got even better new Thursday when he officially cleared concussion protocol on Thursday. That means he should be available for Sunday’s game. Here's the latest on Carr from beat writer Matt Paras. JPPThe Saints signed defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul during the bye. The veteran hasn’t played football since last season, but was brought in to help shore up a defensive front that has struggled putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Columnist Jeff Duncan spoke with Pierre-Paul this week and wrote about what he brings to the team. If you’re curious why Pierre-Paul selected such an odd jersey number, Duncan has that answer for you as well. Taysom Time?Opposing players hate to see Taysom Hill coming. That’s especially true for the Falcons. Some of Hill’s most productive games have come against Atlanta. Beat writer Luke Johnson gives you some of Hill’s numbers and tells you why Hill could play a prominent role Sunday. That’s all for today. As always, thanks for reading. Make sure to check nola.com throughout the day for more breaking news. It’s Friday, which means we will also be recording our podcast to preview Sunday’s game.
