An autumnal night. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear, with lows in the mid-30s to the lower 40s. But tomorrow will be sunny with highs in the mid-50s to lower 60s in the northeast, to mid-60s to lower 70s southwest. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin today posted $1 million bond and was released from custody as he faces trial for the killing of George Floyd. Chauvin is facing five felony counts including second-degree murder. Court records do not say what kind of conditions will be attached to Chauvin's release. Nor do they say where the money came from. Some health care providers say they have had to turn away people looking for a special high-dose flu vaccine designed for people 65 and older. HealthPartners says it was out of those vaccines for the past week and a half, but now has them available again. Jennifer Heath of the Minnesota Department of Health says there's been more of a supply-chain interruption than a shortage. She also says people should know the regular vaccine is absolutely an option even for seniors. Minnesota is posting unusually high mid-week COVID-19 numbers, even as testing has been dropping. The state has reported nearly 1,000 cases in each of the last two days — that’s almost double what the average has been for the previous Tuesdays and Wednesdays dating back to the start of August. Deaths rose to 14 today, well above the seven-day rolling average, which has been hovering between nine and 10 for about a week.
