dear designboom reader, creatives these days turn everyday objects into ceramics, making them as lifelike as possible. this is evident in jacques monneraud's vessels, where viewers might think they're looking at cardboard pottery, but in reality, they're objects made of ceramics. even julia oleynik's clay flowers look like their real-life counterparts, from the folds of the peony petals to the bloom of the lilacs. ceramics can also be more than just objects to display at home or in spaces. they can be worn around the wrists, like IWC's first fully luminous watch. this timepiece can glow in the dark for over 24 hours, standing out with its cool, blue-like hue. ceramics can also be 3D printed into cooling towers that mimic the structure of termite mounds, helping regulate the airflow in the surroundings. thanks for reading! matthew burgos | editor |
