these days, designers give new life to discarded objects and recycle them into water vehicles, clothes, rugs, and furniture. that's the same spirit that has driven hu'chu's daniel roesner to build his sailing catamaran from aluminum scrap and license plates. even d·origen decorates its cafe in barcelona with 3D printed furniture made from coffee waste.

designer mengyan guo and brand stüssy repurpose items, too. the former turns discarded tea leaves into a top and skirt that can absorb odor from air. the latter upcycles its leftover t-shirts and wool from atlas mountain into boucherouite moroccan rugs.
