dear designboom reader, mel edwards transforms wes anderson's quirky, imaginative aesthetic into a pastel-hued alphabet made entirely from paper. the manchester-based designer draws from the vivid colors and hyper-stylized symmetry found in anderson's film sets, as well as in their real-life counterparts as captured in the 'accidentally wes anderson' book. meanwhile, japanese artist naoki onogawa folds hundreds of miniature paper birds as symbols of prayer, upon the 10-year anniversary of the devastating 2011 tohoku earthquake and tsunami. last, kai's paper razor and fumie shibata's stacking paper lid are two projects that employ paper in an effort to reduce plastic waste. thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
