watercraft designs seek to reduce plastic pollution through innovative solutions at sea. the 'manta', a giant hybrid sailing boat by the seacleaners, is capable of collecting, processing and recovering large quantities of marine plastic waste. meanwhile, over 100 autonomous sailboats by saildrone are cruising the oceans to collect data and monitor the planet in real time.

in more watercraft news, italian designer pierpaolo lazzarini revealed an ultra-light carbon fiber sphere that can move on water, land, and air. named 'stratosfera', the futuristic mobility concept will be launched by water transportation company jet capsule by mid-2022. see previous jet capsule models on designboom’s dedicated page here.
