dear designboom reader, SAOTA incorporates existing baobab trees into its proposed hotel resort, ‘la reserve’, establishing a dynamic and poetic relationship between architecture and nature. the project's masterplan, which is made up of a series of smaller buildings, takes inspiration from its grounds on the outskirts of dakar, senegal. o9 design studio's ‘chi-bu’ resort on the banks of the ong keo river in vietnam, is constructed with locally sourced materials, fusing traditional techniques with contemporary design philosophies. lastly, the ‘island escape’ luxury resort on thailand's coconut island consists of slender, prefabricated steel structures with glass wall panels that open seamlessly towards the landscape backdrop. thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
