dear designboom reader, a supersized floating violin created by sculptor livio de marchi made its test voyage in venice last week. called 'noah’s violin', the wooden artwork measures approximately 12 meters long and 4 meters wide, while it is planned to literally travel the world. swiss artist urs fischer's ephemeral wax sculptures are slowly melting away inside the bourse de commerce, where they will continue burning until they completely melt away by the end of this year. finally, new york sunshine has assembled a playable basketball sculpture in brooklyn for reebok using found, upcycled materials. PS. john margaritis, founder of new york sunshine, is the recipient of THE DESIGN PRIZE 2021’s golden madonnina in the category ‘distribution’ for the installation ‘SUN DYED IN TEXAS’! thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
