dear designboom reader, recent skyscrapers can attract curious eyes with their distinctive styles. in bangladesh, OMA’s dhaka tower will be one of the country's tallest buildings as it rises 150 meters above the country's capital. it employs glass for its facade to balance the play of light within, a similar material that appears in bjarke ingels group's latest new york architecture, the spiral. here, a ribbon of garden surrounds the glass tower, slowly ascending from the ground up. the theme of gardens runs through south korea too, with ODA’s perforated skyscraper and its open-air terraces on the ground and in the middle of the building. tapping into the capabilities of nature fuels UNStudio's proposal in düsseldorf, where its ecological skyscraper will soon emerge. it will be equipped with an energy-generating facade using solar-panel surfaces alongside prefabricated and recyclable exterior modules. thanks for reading! matthew burgos | editor |
