JULIE MEHRETU TO CREATE BMW'S 20TH ART CAR

more car-related news come from BMW, who announced julie mehretu as the creator of its 20th art car on wednesday, june 28, at the solomon r. guggenheim museum in new york city. following editions by renowned artists like jeff koons, alexander calder, esther mahlangu, cao fei, and john baldessari, among others, mehretu will present her own version of the BMW M hybrid V8 with full creative freedom. once complete, the car will participate in the 24-hour race of le mans in june 2024, continuing a tradition that spans almost 50 years.
