designboom reports from tokyo, where 'pavilion tokyo 2021' is currently taking place. this week we shared images of two pavilions, one designed by kazuyo sejima and another by sou fujimoto. titled 'suimei', sejima's contribution features a curved water structure that flows smoothly through tokyo’s hama-rikyu gardens. meanwhile, fujimoto has installed a pair of identical pavilions of fluffy, floating clouds at two completely different locations in the city.

after two years of suspense, MX3D installed the world’s first 3D printed steel bridge over one of amsterdam’s oldest canals. the installation of the futuristic project is the culmination of several years of work, starting back in 2015, when the dutch company first proposed printing a metal bridge with its innovative large-scale, robotic 3D printing technology.

in his latest project, 'flora fauna', israeli creative erez nevi pana comments on the exploitation of animals in circuses with a plant-based, choreographed installation. meanwhile, artist mariko kusumoto details an ethereal and otherworldly series of textile sculptures made from translucent polyester and nylon fiber. the work recalls a delicately floating bed of underwater flowers or a coral reef.
