frank gehry's renovation and expansion of the philadelphia museum of art is complete after two decades of planning and design, and four years of construction. designboom attended the project’s virtual press preview ahead of its opening date to learn more about the process. meanwhile, snøhetta has been selected to design a new art gallery in australia, dedicated to one of the nation’s most significant artist families: hans heysen and his daughter nora heysen. the rammed-earth proposal seemingly grows from the surrounding landscape and will include a purpose-built gallery, art storage facility, retail outlet and restaurant.
