Did a school close after an administrator's arrest?

After an administrator was arrested, accused of sexual crimes involving students, Second Chance Academy sure looks closed: The sign is gone, there are no cars in the parking lot, and the window in the door is blocked by cardboard. Despite many attempts, we couldn't contact anyone who would say what's going on.

Here's a look at the long history of controversy at the school, which operates without approval from state regulators.


Last year's hurricane season was mercifully easy on the Baton Rouge area, but local leaders are urging people not to get complacent. They're on a campaign encouraging residents to set up evacuation plans, get emergency kits together and take other common steps.
