Welcome to the 718th DPReview newsletter!

We took a couple of days off last week for the 4th July holiday here in the USA, but we're back! Slightly sunburned and a little hungover, but more excited than ever to bring you the latest news and reviews from the wonderful world of photography. 

Speaking of excited, we recently published the first in a series of new lens reviews, the first one covering Tamron's new 70-200mm F4, for Canon and Nikon DSLRs. Watch out for more lens reviews (and more regular reviews) in the near future.

Chinese flash system manufacturer Cactus has released new firmware for its V6 II Transceiver that will allow it to wirelessly communicate TTL information between a Canon or Cactus flash and a Canon camera. The X-TTL update makes it possible to trigger Canon flashes and retain full TTL control with that flash either on or off camera.
