Co-founder Sabah Drabu said the company has redesigned its website, with its beta-tested ‘CookinGenie – Book a Chef’ app ready to go Friday, Dec. 1. The company is a matchmaker for customers who want private chefs to prepare meals. The customer holds the culinary power, so to speak, by searching for and choosing specific chefs by type of food and region. Chefs shop, cook and clean. OPENINGS Chefs Carl Quagliata, Zach Ladner open Gio’s Pastaria Culinary entrepreneurs and experienced restaurateurs Zach Ladner and Carl Quagliata opened Gio’s Pastaria in the Van Aken District Market Hall, 3441 Tuttle Road, Shaker Heights, on Nov. 16. The new dining option replaces one of the spaces left open when Scorpacciata Pasta and Pizza left. READ MORE Heritage Steak & Whiskey sets opening date Heritage Steak & Whiskey is set to open Friday, Nov. 24, in Eton Chagrin Boulevard. The steakhouse, owned by restaurateur Doug Petkovic, will open 5 to 10 p.m. the day after Thanksgiving. It’s at 28869 Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere, in the former Fleming’s Steakhouse, which closed in 2019. DETAILS Bubbles Under Glass set to return to downtown Cleveland Sparkling-wine fans, here’s your Super Bowl: Bubbles Under Glass is set for Saturday, Dec. 2. Thirty sparkling wines and Champagnes will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. The event, which was on hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic, is back at the downtown Heinen’s. Great Lakes Brewing Co. has scheduled two dates for its annual holiday brewmaster’s dinner. This year’s five-course meal is inspired by “A Christmas Story,” the classic 1983 film shot partially in Cleveland. The brewery is holding the dinner on successive Tuesdays – Dec. 12 and Dec. 19.
