Incredible Indian classical music this week at Wigmore Hall The best cure for the January blues? A hearty dose of culture, at one of London's most beautiful concert halls! Get the new year off to a flying start with exceptional music at Wigmore Hall including sarodiyas Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. For anyone not too familiar with Indian classical music, a sarodiya is a musician who plays the sarod: a fretless stringed instrument used in Hindustani music. The sarodiyas at Wigmore Hall will be joined by a variety of musicians from both Indian and Western classical traditions to present music based on various ragas — melodic frameworks for improvisation that are unique to Indian classical music. There are four concerts in total, taking place between Saturday 7 January and Monday 9 January.
