Good morning from Vancouver… just got back from a wet dog walk. :) Three quick questions for you… Does your audience know exactly what it is you offer? Do they know WHY they need it now? And do they understand how you’re CLEARLY different from everyone else? Or… Is your business another “same old, same old” option that gets lost in the crowd? For example... If you’re a consultant who helps small businesses cut their expenses without sacrificing the quality of their offer... Are you posting uniquely valuable and shareable content that solves their biggest problems and that they can’t get anywhere else? Or are you posting the same quote posts, infographics, and boring tips they could have found in any business book? If you're a real estate agent who helps first time buyers find their dream home... Are you posting personable and useful content where your personality shines through and makes prospects scream "I want to work with them"... Or are you settling for the industry standard and posting a few photos of your new listings with a caption that says "DM me if you're interested"? If you're a copywriter or agency owner who helps digital entrepreneurs scale from 6 to 7-figures... Are you sharing cutting edge advice, actionable case studies, and insights into what's working right now for you and your clients... Or throwing up a few pieces of content sharing tired copywriting formulas and direct marketing tips from the Mad Men era? Listen... Being boring is the biggest SIN in marketing. If you can’t explain exactly what you do and why you’re different from everyone else--and showcase that through your content--without your audience saying: “Ugh, ok...so what does that mean and what do you actually do?” You’re in big trouble. And with the coronavirus and recession in full swing, the trouble is even bigger. Because supply is up...while demand and disposable dollars are down...and the competition is fiercer than ever before. If you aren’t going the extra step to stand out and differentiate yourself from everyone else… your brand (and profits) will get lost in the crowd. Luckily, there’s a simple solution… You must create and ruthlessly refine a BIG IDEA that is… Contrarian (it’s outside of the mainstream) Specific (you can summarize it in 10-seconds) Clear & Concise (there is zero confusion when you share it) For a good example let’s look to how I describe my business coaching: I help entrepreneurs double their income while working 10 fewer hours a week in 90-days or less with my done-for-you discipline, sales, and marketing systems.
