Identifying new leaders is hard. Just think of some of the characters in the Bible: Moses, David, Gideon, Peter—at first blush they didn't look like leaders at all, yet God used them mightily. It's easy to overlook the leadership gifts of people in our church, or even on our staff. But it’s essential that we seek out, train, and empower new leaders. If there’s anything the disruption the pandemic has brought has taught us is that we need the whole body stepping up and doing ministry. One person, or even a one team, simply can’t do it for the whole church.
This week we’re featuring resources to help you identify leaders and then help them develop their latent leadership gifts. Overcoming a Reluctance to Lead offers encouragement and practical ways to increase leadership confidence. Learn how to get the most out of your team's God-given gifts and talents. Finding New Leaders will help you home in on those people in your church or group of friends that have the potential to occupy key ministry positions. We can wait and hope that the next generation of leaders step up and lead—or we can go find and train them.
