Dow falls 234 points but Nasdaq battles back even with yield headwinds

U.S. stocks ended a volatile session mixed with the Nasdaq cutting losses to close higher even as the yield of the 10-year Treasury held at 1.73%, the highest since January of 2020. Still, Dow members JPMorgan, and Goldman Sachs contributed to a 234 point loss as investors weighed a return to higher capital requirements after the Federal Reserve announced the pandemic protection will conclude at the end of the month.
