NARVESON | Staff writer If you recently traveled to downtown destinations in cities like St. Louis, Forth Worth or San Francisco, you may have noticed certain people in the background of your visit. This fall Kevin Blanchard, CEO of Lafayette's Downtown Development Authority, proposed bringing an ambassador program to Lafayette as a way to attract more visitors and investment to the city's growing downtown. On Nov. 18, the Lafayette Downtown Economic Development District approved the DDA's funding request to implement an ambassador program, to the tune of $375,000 over three years that will initially support four ambassadors to work in the downtown district seven days a week.
