Boston Dynamics resurrects Atlas as a fully electric robot | A day after retiring its hydraulic-powered Atlas robot, the company has unveiled a new version — and it looks even more impressive
| Many people were surprised on Tuesday when Boston Dynamics said it was retiring its Atlas robot. But just a day later, it shared a video (above) showing off a new, fully electric version. The company describes the all-new Atlas as “one of the most advanced humanoid robots ever built,” one that's “able to move in ways that exceed human capabilities.” It also incorporates AI and machine-learning tools, such as reinforcement learning and computer vision, “to ensure [it] can operate and adapt efficiently to complex real-world situations.” Yes, just like its dog-like Spot robot, commercialization of Atlas is clearly in the cards. Park City in Utah has hosted Sundance since 1981, three years after it launched in Salt Lake City. Delta, the retro Nintendo emulator, is now on iOS | The free app is the first notable game emulator for the iPhone since Apple started permitting them
| Apple started allowing emulator apps on the App Store earlier this month, and following a bumpy start, the first officially sanctioned one is now available, XDA reported. The Delta emulator can be downloaded from Apple’s official store in many countries, while folks in the EU can find it in the new third-party AltStore PAL app marketplace. The Delta app has on-screen buttons that change their layout and appearance according to the system it’s emulating — whether it’s Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, or Nintendo DS— and it also supports Bluetooth controllers like Xbox One Series S or PS5 controllers.
