Fresh from announcing a partnership with AI specialist OpenAI, Apple is also working on a similar arrangement with Facebook parent Meta, according to a Wall Street Journal report on Sunday. The two tech giants have reportedly held talks about integrating Meta’s generative-AI model into Apple Intelligence for iPhones and other devices. “Meta and other companies developing generative AI are hoping to take advantage of Apple’s massive distribution through its iPhones — similar to what Apple offers with its App Store on the iPhone,” the Journal said. A week after a report claimed that Apple had paused plans for an updated Vision Pro to focus on developing a more affordable version of its mixed-reality headset, prominent Apple tipster Mark Gurman has claimed that the tech giant is “struggling to get the cost down” as it deals with “difficult trade-offs.” Gurman wrote in his latest Power On newsletter that removing features will leave customers “with a less appealing experience.” He added that the more affordable device might have to be tethered to an iPhone or Mac. “Even at $1,500, the product would cost three times as much as rival devices from Meta — without the technological advances that made the Vision Pro superior to the competition,” Gurman wrote ... |

With their decent open-ear headphones, built-in 12MP camera, and a slew of integrated features, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have impressed many of those that have used them. A new update has made the specs even more compelling as it means you can now record video up to three minutes, marking a major increase over the previous limit of one minute, Digital Trends reports. However, after installing the update, the default recording time remains at 60 seconds so you’ll need to go into the settings and adjust the video length if you want to take advantage of the longer limit. Improvements arriving with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 include a new 3D ground map, visual enhancements to multiple environments, huge expansions to the scope of the world, and information about new commercial aviation activities.
