Microsoft is finally making Copilot+ laptops useful for AI

The computer giant has started rolling out lots of new features for Copilot+ laptops, including one that caused a real stir when it was first previewed earlier this year |
For the next two months, Microsoft will be rolling out the 24H2 update for all Windows 11 PCs, and in the process, unlock several features for Copilot+ PCs, including the highly controversial Recall. Although Snapdragon X laptops are getting the feature first, Microsoft reiterated that Intel- and AMD-based Copilot+ PCs like the Asus Zenbook S 16 will get Recall (and other Copilot+ features) starting in November, Digital Trends reported. Microsoft previously announced Copilot+ availability for these PCs, though it still hasn't given a firm date as to when the free Windows updates will start rolling out. Apple looks like it’s gearing up for the launch of the SE 4, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggesting it could drop early next year with a major design change. Gurman claimed the the new model “will resemble the iPhone 14, including the notch cutout at the top,” meaning that it’s bye bye to the thick to-and-bottom bezels and hello to a full display, albeit one with an LCD panel and a 60Hz refresh rate. A larger battery and MagSafe support could also be added, but most notably of all, Gurman believes Apple’s most affordable iPhone will be powerful enough to support Apple Intelligence, which the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus can’t even handle ... |

Sony has announced a trio of new products in its LinkBuds line — the LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open, along with the LinkBuds Speaker. Tipping the scales at 4.9 grams, the new LinkBuds Fit aims for a comfy and stable fit with new Air Fitting Supporters designed to reduce ear contact and pressure, Digital Trends reported. Battery life is said to be 5.5 hours with up to 21 hours via the charging case. HBO has just released a trailer (above) for The Franchise, a satirical look at the world of superhero movies, Digital Trends reported. Brought to us by a trio of talents in the form of Sam Mendes, Armando Iannucci, and Jon Brown, the comedy stars Himesh Patel as Daniel who, working as a first assistant director on a superhero movie, says it’s his job to “keep the actors from killing themselves.” Cue unfolding chaos, with lots of conflicts and mishaps designed to keep audiences chuckling along. But the first reviews are mixed, with Collider calling it “the best TV show about making movies,” and Rolling Stone describing it as “too snooty for its own good” ... |

Steven Spielberg’s son recently revealed that his father has a penchant for video games, with one of his favorites a particular warfare franchise. “[Dad] loves gaming, he’s the one that got me into it,” said Max Spielberg, co-founder and creative director at video game developer FuzzyBot. “He plays games. He’s a big PC gamer, and so that’s kind of our bonding point as well. He’s like, ‘Hey, what’s good? What are the new [shooters?]? Which Call of Duty should I be playing?’ You know, like, ‘Just send me a list of the top five shooters, and I’ll get ‘em downloaded, and we can play them together when you come over to the house.’” With that in mind, perhaps Spielberg should be the one to make the long-awaited Call of Duty movie ... |
