A voice-controlled, self-contorting twisting laptop

Another day at IFA, another kooky laptop concept

Today's bizarre but fascinating laptop concept from IFA is the Lenovo Auto Twist PC, which responds to voice commands to change its shape and orientation. You can say, "Hey Twist, open lid" and the laptop will open itself. Tell it to enter tablet mode and watch it rotate its screen around and then close flat.

There's even a tracking mode which follows you as you move around the room. That could be great for those who like to pace as they talk in meetings or classes. In a hands-on demo the commands worked well, though it's not clear if it's really useful or just a gimmick. Still, as a concept, it's certainly fun.

The Plaud Note shocks as a genuinely useful AI gadget

The slim hardware makes pretty accurate transcriptions

AI gadgets have not exactly bathed themselves in glory in recent months, with high-profile flops like the Rabbit R1 and the Humane AI Pin eliciting well-deserved mocking. But the Plaud Note is an AI gadget that might actually be worth your consideration.

It's a slim block which attaches to your phone and performs voice transcription from both phone calls and in-person conversations. It transcribes fairly reliably in a range of languages (though English performs notably better than other languages) and it puts together summaries. Though it does the same thing as many phone apps, it does them better.

Samsung and Google may be collaborating on smart glasses

Can the two tech behemoths finally make smart glasses happen?

Smart glasses are one of those products that are forever on the horizon, constantly just a few years away from bursting into widespread usage. But the CEO of Qualcomm has hinted that Google and Samsung will be collaborating to create a pair of smart glasses which could truly mark the arrival of the concept into the mainstream.

Talking to CNBC, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon hinted about phones with "companion glasses" and also talked about AI functionality. Samsung announced last year that it was working with Qualcomm and Google on an AR device, through that was originally thought to be a headset. Now, glasses are looking to be the more likely option.

Black Myth: Wukong is hoping for a meaty DLC release

The Chinese mythology hit is planning for more content

With its huge explosion of popularity, it should come as no surprise that the developers of Black Myth: Wukong have big plans for the game. While you might have expected a sequel to be in the works, investor Daniel Wu told Bloomberg that the team is working on DLC instead.

The studio is hoping for a Shadow Of The Erdtree-style boost from a well-timed and significant expansion release. The game has racked up players thanks to its gorgeous visuals and was spurred on by its popularity in China, though the studio has been criticized for sending out restrictive streaming guidelines and has faced allegations of sexism.
