Hello all–

It’s an exciting day here at Beast Travel as we launch Eat Sheet, our destination dining guide. Historically, I’ve avoided doing guides as there were already so many out there. Even with those existing guides, figuring out where to eat has always been, well, a pain in the ass. Lists are exhaustingly exhaustive and often skew new and expensive. We think you’ll find ours the most useful by keeping the list small–8 to 10 spots–and giving you places to eat by category. Some of you like people watching, some are vegan, and some of you are out until the wee hours of the morning and need something sticky to hold you together for the next day.

Our first destination is Nantucket, and our guide to the famed summer hotspot is Todd Plummer. Hopefully, the next time you go, you’ll have this handy little list to make dining out easier.

This week we also have the latest in our series on the World’s Most Beautiful Libraries. Laura Studarus takes us inside the London Library, a space often overlooked or outright unknown. Not only is it easy on the eyes, but the list of its members over the years is staggering– Darwin, Tennyson, Eliot, Twain, Roth, Kubrick, Guinness, Christie, Dickens, and Stoker were all members, to name just a few.

After reading Jessica Colley Clarke’s story about Ireland’s seafood trail, one of my colleagues sent me a note. “This oyster piece is my retirement plan,” she said, and I couldn’t agree more.

Finally, we kick off beach season with Allison McNearney, who has spent the spring poring over the hottest new books to deliver the best beach reads of the year!
