Outdoor entertainment: As the pandemic took a giant whack at New Orleans’ famous entertainment scene, the city of New Orleans loosened some of its outdoor entertainment restrictions to help venues and musicians stay afloat. Looks like the outdoor entertainment might be sticking around.

Swamped in the suburbs: Few things have shaped the region's history as much as hurricanes. Some -- Betsy, Camille, Katrina, Ida -- are more famous (infamous?) than others. Richard Campanella, an author and Tulane University geographer, offers up the story of the Hurricane of 1947, which made a direct hit and left an important legacy.
