BaFin President Mark Branson recently used these words, reported by the Association of German Banks (BdB), to describe the state of the current regulatory framework and at the same time call for changes. Read more (DE) BPFI: Housing Market Monitor Q1 2024 The latest Housing Market Monitor Q1 2024, published by Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI), shows that housing commencements rose sharply to over 30,000 units in the first four months of 2024, compared with around 32,800 units in all of 2023. Read more Finance Norway: Continued high subscription in mutual funds in May Total net subscriptions by Norwegian retail mutual funds for NOK 6.9 billion in May. FROM THE INSTITUTIONS ECB: Decisions taken by the Governing Council The Governing Council authorised the publication of the second European Central Bank (ECB) report on the climate-related financial disclosures of Eurosystem assets held for monetary policy purposes and the ECBās foreign reserves. Read more EBA: Basel III: update of the Pillar 3 disclosure framework The European Banking Authority (EBA) published a final draft implementing technical standards on public disclosures by institutions that implement the changes in the Pillar 3 disclosure framework introduced by the amending Regulation (EU) 2024/1623.
