REACH
Consultation on draft investigation report on the presence of CMRs in childcare articles We have drafted this report to support the European Commission in preparing a restriction proposal for carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (CMR, cat 1A or 1B) substances that may be present in childcare articles.
Have your say on the draft report until 29 September 2023. PFAS restriction proposal – one month to have your say The consultation on the proposed restriction of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) restriction proposal, prepared by the Danish, German, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish authorities, closes in one month.
Take the opportunity and send us scientific and technical information on the manufacture, placing on the market and use of PFAS until 25 September 2023. New substance evaluation conclusion published for CoRAP substance N,N-diethylhydroxylamine (EC 223-055-4, CAS 3710-84-7) was added to the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP) list in 2019 and evaluated by Sweden.Use of diisocyanates restricted under REACH Diisocyanates cannot be used on their own or as a constituent in other substances or in mixtures for industrial and professional uses in concentrations equal or above 0.1 % by weight after 24 August 2023, unless the user has successfully completed a training on the safe use of the substance. Placing on the market has already been restricted since 24 February 2022.
Diisocyanates are respiratory and skin sensitisers. They are mainly used to make polyurethane products, such as foams, sealants and coatings. Restricting their use is estimated to prevent over 3 000 new cases of occupational asthma a year in the EU. The restriction proposal was prepared by German authorities and supported by ECHA’s scientific committees. |
